Bobcat turns 60 this year. The company was born in 1958 from Malroe Manufacturing Company, Gwinner, Nord Dakota. Bobcat celebrates its birthday on the day of the launch of its first front-loading skid loader, evolved than in the building machinery called M-400: the first compact skid-steer-loader in the world with non-steered wheels.

In the last years the American brand increased its presence in the EMEA market, building up in 2007 its first production plant out of the U.S.A., precisely close to Prague: in Dobříš. In the Czech Bobcat factory are produced the majority of Bobcat machineries which are sold on the EMEA territory.

During the same year the property of Bobcat^® brand and Bobcat Company passed from Ingersoll Rand to the Korean manufacturing house Doosan Group. With the change of ownership, the regional investments did not decrease, on the contrary, in the next years Bobcat opened in the Middle East the first office centre (2008) and a new spare parts distribution centre (2015): both of them are based in Dubai.

In 2015 Bobcat inaugurated an engineering European centre, that will be used as European Research and Development centre for the design, precisely, of the small skid-loaders and mini-excavators lighter than 3 tons.

Bobcat nowadays is the Skid-steer-loaders market leader: both rubber-tracked and 4 wheels skid loaders.

Bobcat company is well-known and also considered market leader for the purchase of its skid steer loaders, with rubber tracks or wheels, but also the purchase of telehandlers, mini-excavators are remarkable. Among these we find the 2 tons and 4 tons versions, about which we spoke in our Supercross article and which have been presented at the Intermat trade show in Paris on April 2018.
