Did your rubber tracks tear after just a few hours of use? Has the rubber track worn out too quickly than you would have imagined? Or even the rubber on your crawler tracks deteriorated rapidly, even if the crawler machine only worked very few hours on a few occasions?

The lifespan of your rubber crawler track depends on the way you use it and the care you take of it and your crawler track during use, while driving and even after use.

Here are some tips that can help you reduce the rapid wear of your rubber tracks:

•        Use three points of support to change the direction of travel to reduce the lateral wear of the crawler tracks caused by crawling on the steering ground.
•        Always wash the rubber track and undercarriage with high pressure water after using the crawler machine to keep the track clean and prevent oil and debris from accumulating in the undercarriage.
•        Check the track tension periodically, if possible, every 50-100 working hours. Excessive tension could cause the crawler track to break prematurely, while a loose rubber track has a good chance of falling out of the crawler unit and slowing down on the job site, causing damage to the product.
•        Avoid high transfer speeds, which leads to high wear and tear on the rubber track.
•        Avoid tangentially tackling sharp steps and edges in order to avoid cutting the rubber of your crawler tracks.
•        Do not stop with your tracked vehicle on oil and grease stains so that the rubber of your track remains intact and in excellent condition.
•        Reduce as much as possible the use at extreme temperatures, i.e. above +55° C and below -25°C.
